On Tuesday 20th September we went to Yate International Academy – it was ‘brill’!
We had 2 fantastic science lessons which one of them I am going to tell you about.
Well we went into the classroom which was where we learnt about body parts the very nice lady said that this next part is going to be a little ‘gross’ and asked if anybody would like to leave the room. Some people did.
The lady showed us real body parts, which were a heart and the pluck. It was not human body parts – it was sheep or pig. I couldn’t stand the smell of raw meat so I held my nose! We all got a chance to feel the body parts but with gloves on of course. Then it was Mrs Bannisters go – she was a bit unsure at first but she got the hang of it!

Yr 5/6 Trip To Cattle Country.
On Monday 4th July, Yr5/6 went on their last school trip of the year, to Cattle Country Adventure Park.
There were lots of activities like ‘The Big Pillow’, ‘Splash Pool’, ‘The UK’s Largest Climbing Net’ and much, much more.
In our group our first activity was the trampolines and the splash pool (which was a big mistake! Everybody got soaked). Then we went to the gift shop where we all (or most of us) bought something to remember the trip by. Next was the play barn, there were lots of death slides and secret tunnels.
The best activity was the Splash pool, because everybody was drenched by the time they got out (especially Matt C, Rodi, Adam and Will R). We all had a great day and would love to go back again soon.

Year 6 Trip to Life Skills
On Friday the 1st of July Woodpeckers took a trip into Bristol to go to the Create Centre for Life skills. Everyone found it a great experience and a really fun way to learn about being safe. We learnt how to make a 999 call in different situations i.e. someone has passed out on the floor, house fire and someone carrying a weapon. We even learnt how to make a room safe by not keeping lit candles near curtain, don’t air clothes by a fire, don’t leave alcohol on a low table and keep board games that contain small objects away from young children.
Life skills was extremely realistic and everything you saw looked amazingly real! There was also a train track and there were some obstacles on the track and we had to warn the train which became increasingly scary. There also was a dark alley way which contained lots of graffiti and screaming noises. The day was defiantly fun but a life time experience. By Laura and Danielle
Tynings Music Festival
On Wednesday 22nd June, Year 2 children travelled to the Tynings Primary School to join in with the Annual Music Festival.
This year’s theme was the Wild West!
Some people got to pretend to canoe by sitting on the bench and paddling. The teacher was a little bit strict and funny! She was dressed as a cowgirl and cracked the whip against the floor. Most of the Indians could go and sit in the tepee. Bethany took her baby doll on her back and Jack saw his cousin there. Casey loved the musical instrument that sounded like a whip and Larry thought there were some very mean looking cowboys in the room! Thalia liked the trick rope and also sharing play time with lots of other schools. Harvey T loved dressing as a cowboy. Perhaps the best quote of the day was from Oliver who said “It was the best day of my life!”

2011 Our Roman trip to Caerleon
On Friday 10th June year 3/4 went to Caerleon (Wales) to visit Roman ruins. We went to all sorts of different places, the Roman Baths, the National Roman Legionary Museum, the Roman Amphitheatre,
and finally we went to the Roman Barracks.
"We should come here every day!" quoted Sasha.
All of us had an awesome experience and we all enjoyed climbing over the rocky remains.
2011 Sevington Victorian School experience
Thank you to the PSA for helping to fund what was a fantastic trip for the children in Y1 and 2 this week! They absolutely loved the Sevington Victorian School experience and we wouldn’t have been able to offer it without their support.
