History of the School

The original school opened in 1886 and was used for teaching for over 100 years. When this became too small the 'HORSA' buildings were added, then in the 1970's the "new village school" was built. This building has been extended several times to accommodate growing numbers of children who come from Pucklechurch village itself as well as the surrounding villages of Abson, Parkfield, Dyrham, Hinton, Westerleigh, Shortwood, Codrington, Wapley, Syston and Emersons Green. In the late 1980's the old school building was sold and has now been converted into a private house.

In 2001 a disabled toilet and ramps were added to the school, together with a disabled parking bay, for use by pupils, staff and visitors.
