Welcome to the Foundation Stage - Reception/Yr 1 - Owls

We follow the Foundation Stage curriculum where children experience an indoor and outdoor environment. They are provided with a wide range of experiences and activities some of which are directed and some self-initiated. There is a big emphasis on learning through play but a structured programme for teaching phonics and early reading is followed. The children enjoy cooking activities, village walks, and visits to the farm and church. The children help organise a Teddy Bear's picnic and take part in World Book Day and other whole school events. A Grandparent's afternoon is held each year where grandparents are invited into the classroom and then to the hall to watch the children perform a short concert of songs and poems.

We can play in Our Ice Cream Parlour - Mmm! We wish it was real! We have done lots of work relating to the Three Little Pigs We have been using watercolours to create these pictures in the style of Joseph Raffael.
